Background.
Innocent
citizens populate jails and prisons in the USA and other countries. Truth and Justice Foundation focuses full
attention and donated resources on (1) liberating these people
and (2)
assisting criminal justice systems to resolve this extremely
serious problem.
Nature of Problem.
Law enforcement
and criminal
justice systems throughout the world attempt to accurately identify and
to punish perpetrators of crimes, but they make mistakes as everyone does. Because of these mistakes, innocent people
are:
·
wrongfully accused
·
wrongfully arrested
·
wrongfully tried
·
wrongfully convicted, and
·
wrongfully punished, for crimes they did not commit.
Wrongful Conviction and
Punishment.
Wrongful conviction and punishment can be an innocent person’s worst
fear. With frequency and because of
mistakes, courts wrongfully find innocent people guilty for a crime they did
not commit. Then, courts wrongfully punish
innocent people by ordering innocent people:
·
to pay significant sums of money
·
to spend short and long periods of time in jails and prisons
·
to live the remainder of their lives in prison, or
·
to die by execution.
Problem Resolution.
Truth and Justice Foundation receives donations from you and others to
provide critical services. The
Foundation uses your donations to unite (1) pre-trial defendants and / or
convicted inmates who claim innocence, with (2) reputable scientific
laboratories that administer proven and reliable forensic tests. The forensic tests assist defendants and
inmates to prove their innocence and to be liberated from prison.
Our Mission.
Truth and Justice Foundation (1) qualifies defendants and inmates who
claim innocence and (2) initiates the forensic testing process. The Foundation performs these services
without regard to one’s ability to pay.
Our Objectives.
Truth and Justice Foundation relies 100% on donations from you and
others to achieve the following objectives:
·
to prove a person’s innocence
·
to exonerate people who have been erroneously accused, erroneously tried
and convicted, and erroneously punished, and
·
to identify perpetrators of crimes
Our Goal.
In the short term, Truth and Justice Foundation assists criminal justice
systems to relieve the problem surrounding erroneous identification of innocent
people in criminal cases in America and countries around the world.
In the long term, the Foundation desires to assist all criminal justice
systems to eliminate errors in identifying perpetrators of crimes.
Our Method: Forensic Testing.
Truth and Justice Foundation arranges for the administration of the
following types of forensic tests and the implementation of related services:
·
DNA analyses (DNA genetic fingerprinting
tests)
·
Brain Fingerprinting tests
·
Fingerprint tests
·
Forensic chemistry techniques
·
Forensic materials and biological samples
analyses.
Initiating
the Forensic Testing Process.
The forensic testing process consists generally of
various events as described in the following steps:
Step 1: Donors contribute funds thru eCharity.com to Truth
and Justice Foundation to cover costs of forensic testing services for indigent
defendants and prison inmates (unable to pay for forensic testing) who claim innocence.
Step 2: Pre-trial defendants and/or post-trial prison
inmates make extraordinary claims of innocence. Their claims of innocence are legitimized and become
extraordinary claims because of the alleged occurrence of injustices that
prevented them from obtaining competent justice, e.g., attorney incompetence,
illegal court biases and prejudices, witnesses who perjure themselves and are
exposed, and other such causes.
Step 3: Members of the Press, friends and or family members
of the defendants and inmates, attorneys, and / or other observers of the
alleged injustices, contact Truth and Justice Foundation to request forensic
testing and related services. To
qualify for such services, the defendant and / or inmate must be indigent for
the services.
Step 4: Truth and Justice Foundation confirms indigence
status and implements discussions with the prime supporter(s) of the defendant
or inmate to collect data on the following subjects:
·
to establish the basic facts of the case and to learn the reasons
surrounding the claims of innocence.
·
to record contact information of the defendant, defendant’s prime
supporters, the person(s) who have the most knowledge about the crime, law
enforcement officers familiar with the case, the attorneys involved, witness(es),
and others.
·
to determine which type of forensic testing is required.
Step 5: Truth and Justice than contacts CELLMARK
DIAGNOSTICS, INC. for DNA testing, Human Brain Research Laboratory, Inc. for
Brain Fingerprinting testing and/or other laboratories (service providers) for
other types of tests and analyses.
·
CELLMARK DIAGNOSTICS, INC., as an approved service provider, requests and
receives DNA samples from appropriate authorities and determines if DNA tests
can be applied to the samples and, if so, implements the appropriate analyses
of the samples. Analysis of a DNA
sample has taken one or more months to complete in the past; however, improved
processes have reduced time requirements substantially.
·
Brain Fingerprinting Laboratories, as an approved service provider,
conducts an investigation of the case and develops and administers Brain
Fingerprinting if appropriate. This
process could include the following elements:
-
review of law enforcement documentation containing arrest information,
court testimony, and other data
-
conferences with law enforcement officers, attorneys, witnesses, and
others familiar with the case
-
visitation(s) to the crime scene
Following a thorough review of the case,
Brain Fingerprinting Laboratories (BFPL), determines if information about the
case exists that has not been divulged to the defendant or inmate. If such information exists, then HBRL
develops a specific Brain Fingerprinting test consisting of several types of
stimuli and administers the test to the defendant or inmate. The investigation and testing process
requires from 15 to 30 hours of investigative and scientific processes.
Step 6: Service providers then provide the results
of the tests to the appropriate law enforcement and/or criminal justice
authorities - court. These entities
along with defendant and inmate attorneys determine if, how, and when the test
results are to presented at a Hearing (if a Hearing is granted). Service providers also present a copy of the
test results to Truth and Justice Foundation. In accordance with the agreement
between Truth and Justice Foundation and the service provider, Truth and
Justice Foundation compensates the service provider with funds that you have
donated.
Note: The preceding steps provide you with a
general idea of the processes / events necessary to initiate and to complete
forensic tests. Not all cases will
require the exact steps as described above.

Your
Donations Urgently Requested and Needed.
We urge you now to help us free innocent citizens
who are currently in jails and prisons throughout the USA and around the
world.
As of December, 2000, a total of 87 innocent
citizens have been freed from prisons in the USA. Several of those citizens were saved from life imprisonment and
several were saved from the death penalty.
Your donations will allow us to provide forensic
testing services to free indigent defendants and indigent inmates. These defendants and prisoners have no means
of paying for such vital services.
Innocent
Citizens Erroneously Condemned to Be Executed.
One can only imagine the destitution and
helplessness of an innocent inmate who has been sentenced to serve life in
prison in a 6' x 10' cell, or who is condemned to be executed for a crime that
another person committed. Please
attempt to put yourself in their position for a moment; you must sense their
feelings of misery, despair, anguish, hopelessness, forlornness, and in some
cases, hate for society.
Much
Forensic Testing Required; Your Generosity is Key.
Please be generous now with your donations so that
we can correct the mistakes in judgment made by our criminal justice
systems.
Your donation can be applied immediately for a
specific defendant or inmate, or can be applied to numerous cases. Please consider providing a donation that
will cover costs for one or more tests.
Your donation will free innocent citizens who have
been erroneously condemned to prison and cannot free themselves because they do
not have the money to hire attorneys and to pay for critical forensic tests.
If you have questions, please send your email to
me.
Thank you,
Nash O. Thompson II, Ph.D.
